Deuteronomy 8:11-18
11 Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, 13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 15 He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. 16 He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
Realize the value of God’s grace and love
In the beginning, you know how rewarding it is to live in grace. But as time passes, you feel less grateful and happy than before. Over time, you forget about the immense grace of God and love of the Holy Spirit and end up leaving the domain of grace. This is not what God wants, so He may change your environment or have you overcome various difficulties to make you realize that grace again. Many people have no idea how great it is to live within God’s domain of grace and love until it is gone.
Even the Israelites did not realize how comfortable their lives were under God’s protection. God loved the Israelites so much, and they loved Him in return and lived in the domain of God’s love. At that time, they rejoiced and gave glory to God every day. But as days passed by, they began to forget that grace and eventually stopped rejoicing and giving glory to God. It wasn’t until they were captured and became enslaved in a neighboring country that they realized how good life had been in the domain of God’s love. Only when pain and difficult tribulations came did they realize deeply.
Realize the blessing of good health
If God blesses you with good health, but you are not grateful for it, He may let you suffer physically so that you can realize how great God’s blessing of health is. The difference between those who suffer and those who don’t is like the difference between heaven and earth. But people forget about the life and grace they have while they are healthy, and when they get sick, they say they will do anything to get better. However, they quickly forget the grace of God after He helps them escape the pain as well.
If you forget about God’s grace and love, you will go through suffering and pain to realize, while those who are within God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord are enlightened about the depth of His grace and love.
Live a life of loving and glorifying the Trinity
The reason God allows us to be comfortable and happy is so that we can live loving and giving glory to Him. Even protecting you from contracting the coronavirus is a blessing so that you can give glory to God. You must rejoice and be grateful for the things that God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord have given you. Then they will make that joy and grace persist.
Right now, if you are healthy and blessed by God, you must realize how valuable that love and grace is, give glory to God, develop yourself, and be set on fire with love as you live your life of faith. Think about the past when you didn’t have such blessings, and while God is treating you well, you should run more and live loving the Trinity. You must cherish and value this time of blessings.
