Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Ephesians 4:11-12
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
How your missions are determined
The gospel is the Word of life. It is God. It is the Holy Spirit. It is Christ. It is your destiny, fortune, and life. Centering on the gospel, you will receive power and also exercise authority. Why? Since the gospel is God and the Lord, how you treat the gospel reflects how much you value and love God and the Savior. Even if you say that you love Them, if you mistreat the gospel, it is the same as mistreating God. So you are given missions according to how much you value the gospel.
The mission of witnessing is truly big
The mission of testifying is second to the Messiah’s mission. Preaching the gospel is testifying for the Lord. Apostle Paul earned the great title of Apostle through preaching the gospel. The title of Apostle is truly tremendous.
Even when you’re by yourself, you should preach to yourself. If you keep preaching the gospel to yourself, you will come to have opportunities to preach to others as well. You will prosper as much as you preach the gospel. The gospel is the path of eternal life.
What if you lose the gospel?
Consider the gospel as your joy. You must treat the gospel as life. Then you will believe it and not lose it. If you lose the gospel, you will also lose the owner of the gospel: the Lord, your bridegroom. If you lose the Lord, you will also lose God and the Holy Spirit. That’s why you should never lose the gospel.
Likewise, you need to value your mission. If you don’t value your mission, Satan will snatch it from you. Or, you, yourself will neglect it, forsake it, and others will pick it up. So value your own mission more than anyone else.
Your mission is like your life
Some people might think that they don’t have any missions. However, God gives everyone a mission right away. And that is the mission of believing. God gives you the gospel and your job is to believe.
Also, like Apostle Paul, you must do the mission of evangelism. Despite severe persecution and extreme tribulation while preaching the gospel, Apostle Paul absolutely believed in Jesus, and he realized how important his mission of testifying for the Lord was, and so he loved his mission to the point of offering up his life. We should also love the gospel to that degree.
Know that through your mission you receive glory and your destiny will be determined. Therefore, cherish the missions that God has given you so that you will not lose them.
