It Is Transformation According to Time
1 Corinthians 15:51-54
51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
Today’s main Scripture is a message of hope about the Rapture. The ultimate desire and longing for Christianity is contained in these Scriptures.
Some people believe that when the Rapture takes place, the body will come to life and go up to Heaven. Because they believe that Jesus will come again and take them to Heaven, they believe that the physical body will go directly to Heaven.
In the Bible, it is said that when you sin, you die. That is, when you sin, you become a spiritually dead person. In Ezekiel 8 it says that when you sin, your spirit will die. So is it the body or the spirit that raptures?
There is Scripture that talks about how Jesus came back to life. When you look at many verses in the Bible, you will actually find that Jesus had resurrected spiritually, and that he often appeared here and there in a flash. Physically, you are unable to move from place to place that quickly, but Jesus moved like lightning.
After Jesus died on the cross, his body did not roam around on the Earth again. It was his spirit that moved around. However, if people believe that Jesus rose in the body, then they would also expect him to come back in the body and expect to receive him in the body too.
In 1 Peter 2:24, it says that the Lord died on the cross in order to redeem us from our sins. And in 1 Peter 3:18, it says he was “put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit.”
Jesus said, “Behold. Look at me. Look at me. I have flesh and bones. A spirit does not have it.” People look at that and think that that’s what he meant. When he said that the spirit doesn’t have it, it means the spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones in the same way the body has it. It means that the flesh and bones of the spirit are not like the flesh and bones of the body. Because if it were physical flesh, then it would be perishable. And if it were physical bones, it would be perishable again. The perishable body cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor 15:50).
You have to understand the Bible
Interpreting the Bible requires a tremendous amount of understanding. In interpreting all the words of proverbs, you need understanding. Without understanding, you will think about parables in their literal form. If you do not know a parable’s true meaning, then you cannot interpret the Bible, especially when it comes to the Word of God. The Word of God is stated in various ways but has one commonality.
When it comes to Truth, it is universal even if the language may be different. For mathematical formulas, the method may be different, but the formula is the same. The problems are different, but the formula is the same.
Some people claim that when we die, our bodies will resurrect. If Jesus the Messiah comes back again, he will resurrect all of us who are dead. At Jesus’ time, did Jesus resurrect all the dead people? No, he brought back to life a small number of people.
Now, from that, even if Jesus comes back again, there are tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions and billions of people on the earth. So when Jesus comes back, could he really bring back to life all the bodies of all these people who have died while believing in Jesus?
Even though God is Almighty and All-knowing, He doesn’t do things that are unreasonable or improper. He also does not do things that go against His laws, nor does he do things that are unrelated to God’s history.
Even if you do something without understanding what is in the Bible and without knowledge of what the fundamental essence is, God still gives you grace. God still gives you grace even if you don’t know; however, He cannot fulfill the Will through you. Because you don’t know the Word, you cannot fulfill the Will. God still gives you grace even if you live without knowing. Even the people who don’t believe, God gives the rain and the sun to the righteous, to the wicked, to the good—to everybody. God gives grace to everybody.
Without knowing, you cannot carry out God’s Will
When you do not know, you cannot take action and fulfill God’s Will. You cannot do something if you do not know.
God promised us and predestined that He will send the Messiah. The Messiah has to come. However, for people who misinterpret the Bible, they can never receive the fulfillment of that promise.
Most Christians are taught that everything from Genesis to Revelation are all the absolute words of God, and if you don’t believe it absolutely, then you are disobeying and betraying God.
However, even though they preach this, they know some parts of the Bible do not make sense if interpreted literally. Some interpretations cause other Scriptures to be contradictory or to not fit within the Bible. So, even though they know this fact, they still teach the Word in the same way, despite their reservations. There are pastors who say, “We do know that this doesn’t make sense. I know this doesn’t make sense, but I have no choice but to preach like this because that’s the system of Christianity. These are the laws and rules of Christianity.” There are people who acknowledge this, and once they are done with their ministry, they will even say, “Yeah, it’s not physical resurrection. It’s actually spiritual resurrection.”
Change
In this way, you have to hear the Word, and you have to take action to change. Change is necessary. We have to keep changing in order for our spirits to become more complete. You have to change purposely; you have to boldly move and change.
Change is really difficult. Changing your heart and your spirit is also hard. Tearing something down then rebuilding it is dangerous. In the same way, changing from the life of faith you’ve lived until now also has a lot of risks. Still, even though that is the case, you must change. You must listen to the Word and change.
You can change endlessly. Change doesn’t happen because you finished one thing. Rather, it comes about when you take action little by little every day. When you do the things that are within God every day, then those small changes will accumulate over one day, two days, three days, four days, and become a tremendous change.
You must change at each time. When you are told to change, you must surely change; otherwise, it’s not going to work out. So, absolutely change. When you change, you will do things tens of thousands of times differently. A person who has changed will see things that regular people cannot see because their spiritual eyes are opened. I pray that the love, mercy, and righteousness of God will fill you even more abundantly.
