Whoever Believes In Him Will Not Perish But Gain Salvation

John 3:16-19

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Matthew 5:17

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

Matthew 10:26

“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”

There is nothing as great as salvation for people living in the world. As Jesus said, “What good is it if you gain the entire world but forfeit your soul?” If your body dies, there is no use whatsoever. Therefore, live your life with absolute faith in the savior and the omnipotent and omniscient Trinity who save your body and spirit.

Today’s message title is from the most famous verse in the New Testament:

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

The Savior Came to Fulfill the Law

The Jews lived believing in God centering on the Law. The Law is essentially all of the Old Testament Word that God gave through the prophets, based on the commandments and teachings that God gave through Moses. When Jesus appeared, the Jews misunderstood Jesus, thinking that he, a human being, covered the omnipotent and omniscient God and called himself “the one and only Son whom God sent” to deify himself. They thought that Jesus abolished the Law that God gave through Moses and that he preached words that he made up himself. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus said the following: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

It was as this passage said. Jesus came to complete the Law. He came to fulfill God’s promise—His prophecy—and to complete it.

The same is true in this time period. The Word of this time period does not abolish the New Testament Bible. The message of this time period interprets the New Testament message more deeply. Therefore, this is the time when the New Testament is interpreted perfectly, and God’s Will is fulfilled.

The Word That Was Hidden Is Now Revealed

In Matthew 10:26, Jesus says, “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”

According to this Word, now is the time when God reveals everything that was hidden and this scripture is fulfilled. Consequently, we will come to know about God, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Son more completely.

You have to know the Bible to realize and know how certain messages were interpreted.  People who don’t know or read the Bible properly don’t understand Jesus’ history or the history of God at this time clearly.

John 3:16 is the most basic foundation to our faith: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” According to this Word, you need to believe in the one and only Son that God sent in order to not perish but receive salvation.

Who is the one and only Son whom God loved like this? It is Jesus. If you believe in Jesus, you can receive salvation.

Salvation Is the Purpose

John 3:17 says,“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” In general, people misunderstand and are afraid that God sends someone to judge the world. Judgment is not the purpose; salvation is the purpose. God sent His people to the world to save it. He gave them the Word to save people and to carry out salvation history.

This is the history of the Bible: God sent Moses and saved the Israelites. He sent David and saved the people in that generation. God sent prophets according to that time and saved the corresponding generation. In this way, God sent His people—the central figures, judges, prophets, and others—in each time period and saved that generation through them.

Believe in the Savior

Now we will look at John 3:18: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

God’s one and only Son is the Holy Son. The almighty Holy Son appeared as Jesus. Therefore, the name of the one and only Son is Jesus.

You need to know the New Testament clearly. Then you will realize that this time period is the same.

The one sent by God is the “him” referred to in John 3:18. You need to believe in him. Then you will receive salvation. Why is that? It’s because God speaks through him and takes action using his body.

The Bible records that God will not save those who don’t listen to Jesus’ Word. Not only that, but God also said He would cut off those who don’t listen to the words of the prophets and that He would not save them either. This is recorded in several passages in the Old Testament. This is because the one God sent is not the one speaking and acting. Rather, the essence is that God Almighty is speaking and taking action.

That is why according to John 3:18, we need to believe in the savior whom God sent, listen to his words and believe in God. Then our bodies and spirits can receive salvation.

Sending the savior and saving the world with him is the responsibility of God. However, believing in God and the savior is our responsibility. God works more powerfully and clearly upon those who believe in order to make the salvation history of this time period.

Receiving Salvation

This Word is a valuable message that is the foundation of faith. This is because you need to receive salvation in order for your body, soul, and spirit to live. Salvation includes both physical salvation and spiritual salvation.

The salvation of the body, thoughts, soul, and spirit doesn’t end after they are saved just once. There could be many situations, environments, and circumstances where you face death. Each time, our bodies, thoughts, souls, and spirits must be saved. Then we can continue to live. Therefore, salvation is not just a one-off but a continuous process. If God just saved us once and left us alone, we would die, and that would be the end.

When the moment of death comes to our body, thoughts, and spirit, the problem needs to be solved, and we need to be saved. Then we can live. All our bodies and spirits are alive right now because the Trinity saved us from dozens of near-death situations. If They had failed to save us even one of those times, no one would be alive right now. Since the Trinity saved you, if you live your life with absolute faith in the savior, They will save you again from difficulties and death, and They will fulfill the Will with you like that. Amen.
