Act Quickly

2 Chronicles 35:21
But Necho sent messengers to him, saying, “What quarrel is there, king of Judah, between you and me? It is not you I am attacking at this time, but the house with which I am at war. God has told me to hurry; so stop opposing God, who is with me, or he will destroy you.”

Revelations 22:12
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.”

When God calls you, you must act quickly

In life you may face situations similar to that described in 2 Chronicles 35:21. At these times, you must be like King Necho and act quickly.

Necho had received Heaven’s mission and acted quickly to fulfill it, but the people he had been sent to help were ignorant and misunderstood him. Since the ones being helped did not act according to God’s Will, they ended up fighting against Necho. As a result, King Josiah died, even though he was the one God was helping.

Misunderstanding leads to harm

Through King Necho, God was working to resolve an issue that King Josiah had been wanting to resolve for a long timethe issue of national defense. But Josiah failed to believe what Necho said and misunderstood him, thinking that Egypt was fighting against Israel. Thus, Josiah met a miserable end.

In the same way, if you misunderstand and attack or block someone who is actually trying to help you, then you will be the one to receive harm in the end. You may even suffer a similar fate as King Josiah.

Discern whether you’re in the position of Necho or Josiah

The one who receives God’s mission is in the position of King Necho, while the one who wants to fulfill his own wishes is in the position of King Josiah. You should carefully discern your own position in every situation.

King Josiah had always considered Egypt as his enemy; thus he misunderstood King Necho’s efforts to help him. Therefore, don’t treat people as your enemy while focusing on the past. Even if they are people like Cain, God sometimes uses them to strike a bigger “Cain”.

May you read 2 Chronicles 35 with understanding, realize about your own situations in life, and act appropriately while being united with the side of Necho.
