The True Teacher of the Entire World Makes You into the Trinity’s Counterpart of Love

2 Timothy 4:2-4
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Some parts of the world are celebrating Teacher’s Day this week, so I will speak to you about the true teacher of the entire world.

A teacher is someone who teaches. He can be a master, a guide, or a guru.

Among teachers, there are those who teach on a national scale, and there are those who teach on a worldwide scale.

People often say that Jesus, Buddha, Socrates, and Confucius are world-class teachers, but let’s compare them.

Jesus

As the Messiah, Jesus taught the way to lead the body, soul, and spirit to salvation and taught about God.

He also taught about what sin and righteousness were, taught about how you should live your life, and taught about the love of God and the eternal Heaven.

Those who listened to Jesus’ teachings and followed him believed in him as the Messiah and came to live having received salvation for their bodies and spirits.

The following were Jesus’ greatest teachings:

  • teachings about the Almighty God
  • teachings about why you should live
  • teachings about loving God with all your heart, will, and life, and loving others

Buddha

Buddha was the leader of Buddhism. He taught about the meaninglessness of life, and he also taught that if you live virtuously, you will go to paradise.

If you read the Buddhist texts, you will see that Buddha did not teach about God:

“I am my own lord throughout heaven and earth.”
“Do acts of charity without a reason.”
“Do not expect some kind of reward, praise, or merit for your good deeds.”
“Everything in the world is meaningless, so don’t struggle to own anything and don’t be tormented that you lost something.”
“Greed is a trumpet that calls so much pain.”
“Those who do good deeds will receive a good reward, and those who do wicked deeds will receive wicked retribution.”

Buddha taught about the meaninglessness of life and how to live virtuously in many ways. His teaching wasn’t about the path of salvation for the body and the spirit, but it was about living a virtuous life. Since he did not know about the omnipotent and omniscient God, he couldn’t teach about God, the eternal Heaven, and fundamental goodness and righteousness.

Fundamental goodness is to realize about God and to live according to His Will.
This is the greatest virtue.

However, in Buddhism, the greatest virtue is seen as following Buddha’s teachings and
doing good deeds.

They make statues of Buddha and bow down before them so much. Sometimes, they even bow down 3,000 times. This is not freedom but pain.

It is easier said than done. If you actually bow down to a statue 3,000 times in a row, you will know how painful and difficult it is.

This is not an act connected to salvation, but is merely an act of polishing one part of yourself.

Jesus told people to worship God. He said that any person or any soul / spirit should worship God.

He did not tell people to make statues of God and bow down 3,000 times in a row. Of course, it is okay to bow down once in a while depending on the situation.

When he says to worship God, he means to live a life of obedience before God every day and to surrender your life to God’s words.

Socrates

Socrates discussed and taught about life.

He said, “Know yourself. Knowing about ignorance is the beginning of knowledge.

The hour of departure has arrived, so now let’s go our own ways. I to die, and you to live. Which is better, only God knows.”

In this way, he discussed about life through academia and taught people.

Once again, his words were not about eternal salvation. He couldn’t teach about the eternal God either. Therefore, you cannot consider him as a teacher for all mankind.

Confucius

Confucius taught about honouring your parents, being benevolent, and being well-mannered and virtuous.

Confucius taught a lot about fulfilling human responsibilities and virtues. He said,

“While you are not able to serve living people, how can you serve the spirits of dead ones?

While you do not know life, how can you know about death?

When we see men of worth, we should think of equaling them; when we see men of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves.

The man of virtue makes the difficulty to be overcome his first business, and success only a subsequent consideration.

Without being acquainted with the rules of propriety, it is impossible for the character to be established.

Is virtue a remote thing? I wish to be virtuous, and lo! Virtue is at hand.”

But he was also unable to teach about the omnipotent and omniscient God, about eternal salvation, about fundamental goodness and righteousness or about success; nor could he teach how to resolve the issue of sin.

True world-class teachers

Great world-class teachers need to teach about the following:

  • the Holy Trinity
  • eternal salvation
  • how to solve the problems of sin
  • the body and the spirit

True world-class teachers should

  • interpret the Bible and put those words into practice
  • teach about the purpose for which God created the heavens, the Earth, and mankind
  • carry out that purpose and thus fulfill the purpose of creation and God’s Will

By doing so, they should fulfill God’s greatest desire and His promise in the Bible, and through that, they should fulfill people’s hopes too.

Only the ones who achieve this can be considered true teachers of the entire world.

The most important thing is this: true teachers should make lives into people who are loved by God.

In other words, they should make people into the Trinity’s counterparts of love who love and live with the Trinity.

As people grow up, they usually find out about what they have to do and their responsibilities as human beings.

Anyone who matures comes to know about themselves, mercy, general good deeds, and ignorance.

However, they do not know about the purpose for which they were born, the Will of God, and the purpose for which God created the heavens, the Earth, and human beings.

Therefore, although people revere Buddha, Confucius, and Socrates as “world-class” teachers and accept their teachings and ways of life, they cannot resolve both the fundamental issue of life and the eternal issue.

Only the Messiah is the true world-class teacher

Those who heard and acted on the Word of the Messiah Jesus came to know about the eternal God, received salvation in body and spirit, and became children of God.

Through that, they lived as God’s children as long as their bodies were alive, and their spirits ended up living in Heaven forever.

If you look at today’s main Scripture, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, it says,

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

In this world, there are too many teachers who teach incorrectly about life and whose teachings are self-centered.

Even if they teach well, their teachings pertain strictly to human beings, are knowledge-based and yield nothing special even after you learn them; they are general teachings that everyone can figure out as they mature.

They call themselves teachers and teach various things so that people will follow and serve them.

They are teachers who teach, but their teachings are merely knowledge and common sense.

No one can live properly, or in an awesome, beautiful, and marvelous way with those teachings.

You have to fulfill God’s Word! You have to live according to the Lord’s Will and make it your purpose to fulfill his Will!

You are enlightened when you take action. In other words, when you take action, the Trinity let you realize how to take action. They especially let you realize when you do the work entrusted to you by God.

This is the message the Trinity gave when I was taking action. All of you should take action to the end!
