Act with Certainty While Relying on God

Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Philippians 2:12–13
Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.

A Life of Serving and Loving God Is the Best

The most precious life on earth is one lived serving and loving the Almighty and eternal God together with the Holy Spirit and the Lord. This is eternal life. Though people think living according to their own preferences is satisfying, it ultimately leads to death, both physically and spiritually. A life that loves and serves the eternal God is the greatest life in God’s view.

Human thoughts cannot be trusted because they constantly change. People are weak and limited, and their hearts waver. Even while walking a good path, they suddenly turn and choose a path that leads to destruction, failing to manage even their own lives. Such wandering comes from ignorance. God’s love and thoughts are perfect. Therefore, a life lived according to His Word is eternal.

Know That It Is God Helping You and Rely Only on Him

When God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord send someone to help you, give thanks to God who sent that person. Do not treat the helper as the source. That person is only a messenger. It was God who worked through them.

If you live relying absolutely on God, blessings will continue. Though God helps individuals, families, nations, and the world through people, many end up following people instead of God. True help comes only from the Lord and the Holy Spirit. Failing to recognize this leads to judgment.

God helps through all creation, yet people become attached to created things such as the sun, moon, stars, and nature, and even worship them. This is idolatry. God created all things to serve humanity. He is the true source behind every blessing. There is no work in which God does not help. Yet people say, “I did it,” or “Someone else did it for me.”

God is Spirit. He inspires through the Holy Spirit and works through appropriate people at the right time. But instead of thanking God, people cling to the human instrument. In truth, it was always God who provided the help. Even when you help yourself, it is God inspiring you. He helps in all things, big and small, from beginning to end.

People fail to recognize this because humanity fell and became disconnected from God. The Fall is the sin of not truly believing in Him. If people truly believed, they would acknowledge that all help comes from God and live united with Him in gratitude and joy.

Just as God helped our ancestors, He is helping us now. Lift up your eyes and recognize where your help comes from, as written in Psalm 121:1–2. You will perceive His help only when you act according to His Word and firmly believe that He is working in your life.

Be Grateful for God’s Help

God has abundantly provided, yet the more some receive, the more resentful they become, wanting even more. Instead of gratitude, receiving becomes a habit, and some ultimately walk toward destruction.

Rather than being resentful, be thankful for the help you have already received and for God saving your life. Hold firmly to His love as your evidence and continue loving God and the Holy Spirit even more. When you firmly believe that God is helping you, you will not be anxious or afraid, but you will live in peace.
