Who Is It That Unravels the Mystery?

Revelation 5:1-7

Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

Revelation 3:7

“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

God Makes a New History in a New Domain

The law of the Old Testament cannot be changed within the Old Testament. Only in a new domain can it be changed. Since a new time period, the New Testament, came, God changed the system as well as the Word in a new way through the Savior, Jesus, He sent. God carried out the new history in the New Testament by giving the new Word and changing the Old Testament systems.

The old times cannot change their customs or doctrines within themselves. Therefore, God brings about a new history by initiating change in a new time period. Beliefs formed in one domain cannot be changed within that same domain. This is like a building that has already been completed. The land is bought and the structure is finished, so it cannot be rebuilt there. For this reason, God makes changes in a different domain.

On a smaller scale, a grandfather cannot easily change the way of life he has maintained for many years. In the same way, children cannot build a new house on the foundation where their father already built and lives. A new house also cannot be built inside an old one.

Only when the time of the children comes can change be made. This is like grown children building a house elsewhere. This pattern is seen throughout religious history. It is also seen in politics and in academic fields, including science. When a new era comes, a new figure is emerges and makes history through a new theory.

All new history is history that God makes. Because the present is more developed than the past, God works at a higher level. New history is like a new branch growing from a tree. As it grows, it spreads outward and produces new shoots. All of this is done by God. Religion does not belong to an individual. It belongs to God, who is the owner. Therefore, God personally operates it with the one He sent.

It Is Done According to God’s Will and Time

Sometimes you intend to explain a plan and have someone act in a new way while continuing as before, but it does not work. In such cases, you allow that person to continue in the same domain and ask another person to carry it out in a new way. God has likewise made history by changing its course in this manner.

For the domain in which He previously worked, God had already given what was appropriate for that domain. Therefore, He does not take those things away simply because a new person appears and give them to someone else. Instead, God begins anew in a different place, raising a new person in a natural way. This reflects the principle of reason, the order of nature, and the governance of the ideal world.

Difficulties Encountered in God’s New History

When a new history starts, it is pioneering and developing. Therefore, it is difficult, it is hard, but it is when you can gain new things. Pioneering requires one to do it with all their heart. Some people say the problem is the tribulation and suffering. But God has made history with these, too, appropriately for the new history. The problem is not the cold wind. The problem is how many layers of action that are suitable for the time period a person has put on.

The wind must blow in order for the crops to get air and so dry well and ripen well in the autumn. Without the wind, the air does not circulate. Likewise, the pain of the tribulation that is like the wind is God’s message that says, “Everyone, come to your senses and do better.” Or it is like God helping the crops ripen better. The grace is great as much as the tribulation is big. Is it better to travel without a burden although the path is narrow? Or is it better to travel on a broad path, carrying burdens?

Even if you may not know, God executes His plans when the time comes. Instead of simply informing you of what you do not know, God proceeds while taking action together with you. You, too, will realize this later on. Therefore, do not fear, but take courage. History becomes greater as it goes on. Only those who believe and take action know.

When thinking about God’s work and the history He carries out, we may wonder why there are so many difficulties even though it’s God’s history. There are many difficulties because people are developing and pioneering the new history. This is how the beginning of the old history was, too. God is the administrator, so He holds all things in His hands and controls. Therefore, during your time, you must do things with faithfulness regardless of whether there is tribulation or persecution. Once your time passes, you cannot do it even if the time is comfortable because the time has passed and is no more.

We must be harmonious, then it will go well. We must help and guide one another and feed those who are physically hungry. With faith also, we must support and assist one another. When things are difficult, a person cannot do it on their own. They can climb up only if they are given support even as thin as a thread. As they continue to climb, holding onto that thread, at one point, they, too, will reach flat ground.

Draw Closer to God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord

In golf, if you strike the ball from a distance, the probability of making a hole in one is 1 to 10,000 or 1 to 50,000. The closer you are to the hole, the higher the chance the shot will enter the hole. With God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord, too, if you serve Them from a distance, it is difficult for you to be victorious. The closer you are to Them, the easier it is for you. You don’t even need to do it the hard way.

If you feel you are distant from God, the Holy Spirit, and the Lord, you will become closer to Them if you repeatedly try to draw closer. In golf, too, as you strike the ball repeatedly and draw closer to the hole, you can easily have the ball enter the hole. Therefore, do not attempt to make it at once while being distant from God. Instead, come close to God through repeated effort and do it. Then, it will work at once, and it will not be hard.
