Matthew 4:18-20
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.
Acts 2:38-41
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
John 4:21
“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
John 4:25
The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
John 4:39
Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
Acts 22:5-8
as the high priest and all the Council can themselves testify. I even obtained letters from them to their associates in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished. “About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’ “‘Who are you, Lord?’ I asked. “‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied.
By Evangelizing, Jesus Fulfilled the New Testament History
- Jesus evangelized Peter, appointed him as the first disciple, and made history on a large scale through him (Reference: Matthew 4:18-20, Acts 2:38-41).
- Jesus evangelized a woman, who came to draw water, at a well in Samaria. Through that, the gate of evangelism to the gentile world was opened, so He continued to carry out the history of evangelism in a big way (Reference: John 4:21, John 4:25, John 4:39).
- Even after passing away, Jesus evangelized Paul. By preaching the tremendous gospel through Paul’s body, Jesus fulfilled His hopes and carried out the Will of God in the time of the New Testament (Reference: Acts 22:5-8).
- Apostle John, too, was evangelized by Jesus (Reference: Matthew 4:21). Apostle John addressed everything and recorded in the book of Revelation of the Bible not only what he saw in the spiritual world after Jesus died but the secrets about the spirit also.
By evangelizing in this way, Jesus fulfilled and spread God’s Will of the New Testament. Jesus had an ideology of evangelism, so He evangelized even in the midst of tribulations and even on the cross. Even after He died, He continued to evangelize in spirit. Those whom Jesus evangelized became the foundation of the New Testament history and thus established the history. By evangelizing, Jesus fulfilled the New Testament history.
Blessed Are Those Who Evangelize
Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Those who bring numerous people to righteousness will be blessed so that they will shine like the sun, the moon, or the stars. If you do not go around to catch fish, you cannot catch even one fish. Similarly, if you do not go around to evangelize, you will not be able to evangelize even one person until the end of your life. Evangelize together with God and the Holy Spirit. If you are determined and make up your mind to evangelize, then God too will select appropriate people in accordance with your heart, and He will send people for you to meet.
Even in the Midst of Tribulations, God Will Let You Fulfill the Greatest Hope
The Bible shows that while being chased by the wicked, the righteous arrived at the place they had wanted to go to the most. There, they fulfilled the highest and greatest Will of God as well as their own will. Because of tribulation, they went there and gained the most ideal things. They could never have reached that place in normal times. Read the whole Bible and look at Jacob, Joseph, Elijah, Esther, Mordecai, Daniel, Moses, Joshua, Caleb, Isaiah, King David, King Solomon, other kings, and Jesus. Even though they suffered tribulations and unjustly suffered the torment of Hell because of the wicked and their enemies, they loved God and the Lord to the end. Through that, they fulfilled the greatest ideal world while following God’s Will.
The same is true in this current time. Do not stay still just because you are chased or persecuted. Instead, take action following God’s Will. Even in the midst of hellish suffering of tribulations, God will let you fulfill the greatest hope at a time you could not imagine while in the world. You should fulfill your duties faithfully until that time. Opportunities that God gives will come. Therefore, do not lose heart but pray and do things boldly with hope.
