Depending on What You Do, the Outcome Becomes Either Good or Bad
Matthew 3:3
This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”
Luke 10:38-40
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
The design is important
When constructing a building, the same materials can result in either a beautiful or a plain structure. But if you’ve made up your mind, why not do something in the most beautiful way possible? This goes for building a house, painting a picture, or even figuring out your life’s path. You should ponder and then formulate it. With everything in life, the blueprint determines its outcome.
Whether it’s something big or small, the first step is to create a design. If you plan beautifully beforehand, you will produce a beautiful outcome. Design well by thinking carefully and planning in a structured and orderly fashion; then everything will go smoothly. Just as nice music comes from a well-structured orchestra, a good outcome comes from a well-thought-out plan.
Creating a plan or design isn’t everything though. Your success or failure is determined by your method. You should study the best implementation strategy and constantly think of improvements. However, even if you have a great idea, it’s no good if you can’t implement it. Therefore, you also need to develop a solid strategy beforehand. In sports, the winning team is the one that strategizes well and utilizes the skills of each player. The coach knows that no matter how great one player may be, greater things can be achieved if the team works together.
Live beautifully according to God’s plan
The same philosophy applies to how you live serving the Trinity and the Lord. Everyone has to live, so we might as well live in the best way possible. Thinking about what God has done—creating the heavens and the earth—His designs are truly the best. God does everything beautifully, so if we live following His plan, our lives will also turn out beautifully.
However, even though we live together with the Trinity and the Lord, we still have to know the correct methodology to succeed. If you just believe in God but don’t live while united with the Lord, then life becomes bland. You should think about how you’re currently living each day and each moment. Then you should create plans and execute them together with the Trinity and the Lord in a meaningful and fun way. Like this, you’ll live a happy and joyful life, and God’s Will will be fulfilled.
Prepare the way for the Lord
In the Old Testament, the Jews waited so long for the Messiah to come, but because they weren’t prepared properly, they failed to create a foundation for Jesus and could not receive him.
How great would it have been if the people had listened to Jesus’ words and followed? If King Herod had led his country and ruled while serving Jesus, then how great a job he would have done. But instead he was ignorant and strove to arrest and kill Jesus.
On the other hand, Jesus visited Mary and Martha because they had structured his visit well. While Mary listened to the Word, Martha cooked the food. If Jesus wasn’t satisfied, he wouldn’t have gone there. But they prepared well and they served him, making the way straight for the Lord.
Just like the saying, “A monk cannot shave his own head,” the Messiah cannot make his own path and lead people on that path. We have to prepare the way for him.
We shouldn’t just wait for the Messiah to come, thinking that he’s going to do something great. Depending on how well we prepare, the Lord will appear upon that foundation. If we prepare really well and then receive the Lord, he can reveal his power even more. We should prepare a foundation of people and a foundation of prayer.
The outcome depends on what you do. Therefore, do everything well—listen to the Word of God, serve the Trinity and the Lord, and do good work. Plan well, design well, and live beautifully.
