God Will Let You Return to the Land He Promised. God is With You Wherever His Purpose Is.
3 John 1:2
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
Genesis 28:15
I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Based on today’s main Scriptures, your spirit has to do well in order for your body to also do well. It means that you have to live serving God, respecting Him, believing in Him, and obeying His Word; then things will go well for your body too. So having done this, things will not only go well for your spirit, but you have to live your life of faith properly for your body to also do well.
This truth is something known only to those who put it to practice. Those who do not put it to practice only receive conceptual learning, and they can’t receive the grace of actually doing it and benefitting.
You have to act on the Word. Only the person who puts the Word to practice and lives by it will benefit. The taste of listening to the Word is in the taste of keeping it and abiding by it, right?
When you hear about food, the reason you listen to it is so that you can ultimately eat it and taste it. In the same way, there is the grace that comes from listening to the Word, the grace that comes from keeping it, and the grace that comes from gaining something from it.
God is fully satisfied when you listen to the Word and also when you keep that Word. He is so happy when you gain something from keeping it. For people who keep the Word, things work out well for their spirits and bodies. People who do not put the Word to action only go as far as receiving grace from listening to the Word.
There is a biblical story about Jacob. God said to Jacob, “I will let you come back to this land. I will let you return.” Prior to leaving his hometown, Jacob received the blessing from his father, Isaac, in place of Esau by disguising himself. After Esau figured out that Jacob had received the blessing, he became enraged, and felt betrayed. He started holding a grudge against Jacob.
Ultimately, Jacob ran away to his uncle’s house, and on his way there, in Bethel, he built a stone altar and prayed to God. Jacob wondered, “Will I ever come back to my hometown again?” At that time, God promised him, “I will be with you, and you will come back again.”
Jacob treated God very well, so he received God’s blessing. When Jacob was leaving his hometown, he prayed to God, feeling anxious and afraid. God said to him at that time, “You’re going to come back again. You’re going to return to this land.” After hearing these words, Jacob gained hope and said, “Yes, I’m going to come back again.” Of course, the issue is when he would return.
Now, if God had told Jacob, “Jacob, you’re going to come back in around 20 years,” Jacob would have fainted, and he would have said, “God, forget it then. I’m going to go back home, and I’m going to duke it out with Esau. Why should I leave my hometown?” However, this is the way God always works. He never gives you specific details. We have to understand God’s heart. God did not tell Jacob because Jacob would have been really shocked.
God will only lead us through inspiration. He will only tell us things like, “I’m going to be with you wherever you go, so just go in peace.”
To wed with Rachel, Jacob had to set a 14-year condition and then another seven years to gain the sheep. Therefore, he went through suffering for about 21 years to set the condition during that time. God did not reveal each and every single thing to him, but instead, God told Jacob, “You will come back.”
When Jacob returned to his hometown, he brought his flock and his love. If he had not first gone there, what would have happened? The Will would not have been fulfilled. He would not have gained all those things.
Therefore, I want everyone to know that God’s Will happens in a fascinating, mesmerizing, interesting, and strange way; so, empty your heart, okay? Empty your heart completely before God; you have to empty your mind.
At the very end as Jesus was facing death, he said, “God, let it be done by Your Will.” Jesus left everything up to God and felt at peace. Do we come to fulfill our own will? God is the happiest when we ask Him to do things according to His Will. God loves you, so He will do what’s best for you. Living this way is the ultimate way to live.
What does it mean to live the ultimate life? It is to live by God’s Will. You should entrust everything to Him.
Where the Will of God exists, God helps you. And if there is no Will, God thwarts your plans. If you don’t do things according to God’s purpose, things just do not turn out well. So, you have to keep doing things according to God’s purpose. Do it centering on His purpose and surely do it according to His Will.
