Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what
God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Philippians 1:10
so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ…
To Fulfill God’s Will, Receiving the Holy Spirit’s Thoughts Is Absolutely Necessary
We believe that God’s Will is better than our own will. However, following God’s Will is not something we can just do by our own power or by our own thoughts. That is why the Holy Spirit guides us through giving inspiration and revelation so that we can discern God’s Will and take action on it.
Receiving the Holy Spirit’s thoughts Is Human Responsibility
Even though the Holy Spirit wants to speak to us and let us know God’s thoughts and Will, our brain which receives those thoughts has to be ready and in the proper state. If our brain is hazy or in a state of being asleep, and if we don’t pray, we cannot receive the Holy Spirit’s thoughts. Therefore, we are unable to take action on God’s Will and end up taking action according to our own will.
The Holy Spirit Speaks at Each Time
When we look at the Bible, we can see many examples of the Holy Spirit leading people to take action on God’s Will. But one thing we need to realize is that there is God’s Will at each time, and the Holy Spirit speaks according to the Will for that time. If people do not recognize God’s Will and the Holy Spirit’s thoughts for the current time and let themselves be stuck only on the old ways that were given in the past, they will be unable to receive the new blessings God is bestowing in the present. They rejected Jesus 2000 years ago because they followed their own thoughts thinking, “we only need to believe in God,” and ignored the new work and Will that God
was fulfilling through Jesus. Because they missed the time, they are still waiting for the Messiah to come even now. That is a “mirror” we must look at deeply to not miss God’s Will for our time.
